AFROVELVET'S 100% CACAO IS AN EXPERIMENTAL and IMMERSIVE PRODUCTION FOCUSED ON THE RE-DESIGN OF ECOLOGY, WEARABLE ART, HUMAN EXISTENCE, TECHNOLOGY, AND EXPLORATION OF THE UNKNOWN BASED ON FUTURE PREDICTIONS.
100% CACAO features models, designers, stylists, music artists + MORE of the African diaspora and indigenous lands. From production members to talent, Cacao represents the original “chocolate.” 100% Cacao seeks to present “blackness” in fashion, art, and entertainment from an inside perspective. The presentation takes DESIGN to a multidimensional level; featuring wearable art, film projections, live music, LANDSCAPE DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE integrated into the runway, performance art and movement, all curated by designer and director AfroVelvet. Cacao conceptualizes the seen and unseen worlds we live in, and communicates the development of and transitions between these worlds.

These garments embody artistic influence from industrialism and construction in color & materials, and foreshadow futuristic elements of architecture and building design in shape. The show’s industrial elements are juxtaposed with raw materials to emphasize the need for returning to sustainability and living in harmony with the land.
